ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sammie is a joyful and easy going personality with a passion for seeing women flourish and thrive in the uniqueness of who they are. She navigates the beauty space believing that inward beauty can be drawn out through freedom to express yourself outwardly with beautifying tools. She has a heart to serve and make everyone in her chair feel special.
Beauty background
Sammie's makeup career began in 2015, after training with one of Lagos, Nigeria's top makeup artists. She went on to develop her unique style specialising in skin-focused soft glam makeup. She has worked on sets with upcoming hair brands, fashion brands and magazine outlets, alongside talented photographers. From 2021, she delved into the bridal world, working with bridal parties of various demographic backgrounds all over the UK. Her heart for the wellbeing of women has led to conducting makeup workshops to partner with campaigns providing platforms for the voices of marginalised women. Sammie has also worked backstage with R&B artist Mnelia and West African artist Mimie. She is currently in the final year of her Pharmacy degree, with hopes to intercept the beauty space with skincare and cosmetics production.
Favourite product
I always let my girlies know how important a rich base is for makeup application and a stunning skin finish. My favourite product, and most reached out for in my kit is the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched base. It softens, soothes, hydrates and preps all skin types perfectly for makeup application. This product visibly provides an illuminated and healthy skin base even for everyday use.
From the artist
The most fulfilling part of make up artistry, for myself, is the opportunity to serve people. Being part of someone's special day or helping bring a vision to fruition aesthetically, is always a sobering experience. Oftentimes, being a beauty provider is so much more than just providing a singular service but being brought into someone's world to connect, uplift, assist and so much more.
